Saturday the 14th of March 2014
I used to write several posts a day but now, I never seem to find time. It’s strange that one can go from being such an avid blogger to being such an average one. So, what’s happened since January? I suppose quite a lot really. My hair is dark red now; I decided to do it myself using a box dye as the hair salons here are ridiculously expensive.
We visited Schronisko Na Paluchu, Kącik Adopcyjny, it was an experience like nothing I or my SO had ever experienced before. There were 2,000 dogs there, it’s unbelievable. We went back again on the 1st of March and adopted a fifteen year old female dog called Zośka. After taking her to a dog salon (I couldn't cut all of the dirt from her fur myself), my SO was told that she’s probably corgi mixed with some other breeds. She definitely has a corgi shaped body and ears. It’s just a shame she’s quite old as we’re aware that she might not live as long as one might hope. We decided it didn't matter and that it was better for her to live out the rest of her days with us than in a shelter.
On the 28th of February, I bought a smart phone (LG F60), tripod and SD card, rearranged the living room furniture and arranged to start Polish lessons. It was rather a productive Saturday. I had tried to buy a 32GB card a day earlier only to discover I hadn't yet been paid… It was awkward to say the least. I received some flowers on Międzynarodowy Dzień Kobiet 2015 (IWD 2015) from my SO, which I took a photograph of for Instagram. They were beautiful, especially once they’d opened up. On the morning of Sunday the 8th of March, our doorbell rang unexpectedly and we were handed two 1l bottles of Coca-Cola (for free) and some shopping vouchers! On Saturday the 7th of March, I fried some pierogi and I added a tartan bow tie to Zośka's shelter collar.
I washed Zośka’s bedding today as we’re still using two sofa cushions covered in blankets as her bed. Luckily, I managed to find a decent dog pillow/bed with waterproof (and washable) fabric for her to sleep on, which I ordered today from Amazon. We’re worried about her becoming incontinent due to her age. She’s good at going to the bathroom outside though which is a plus as it meant we didn't have to potty train her. I've mopped the floors and I need to make a start on my Polish homework as it’s quite easy to forget certain things when you don’t practice often enough.
